BARRY CROSSLEY
Hi, I am Barry Crossley, I live (and perform) in Holmfirth, Yorkshire with my wife Laura and our children Oliver (15) and Lily (9). I started performing in Pantomimes in 1994 in my local amateur dramatic society, St Dustan's AODS. I continued to play the Dame in the pantomime group for the next ten years then landed a role in professional panto with Spillers Pantomimes in Wakefield in 2000/1. I played 'Mucky Mick' in "Mother Goose". Here I met some amazing people whom I am still friends with today. This experience inspired me to come back home and start writing pantomimes myself. I starred in my first self written panto at Hyde Festival Theatre in 2007 for Hyde Little Theatre. I continued to write and play the dame at Hyde Little Theatre for the next 7 years. My scripts have since been used by many other local societies, most of whom have come back for more.
If you decide to perform one of my scripts, I will be here to support and help you in anyway I can. I have performed as the Dame in nearly all of my scripts, so I have first hand knowledge of all of the roles and I have seen them work.
My character 'FLESHCREEP' in "Jack & The Beanstalk" won a NODA Award for Best Comedy Performance 2016.
My script for ‘DICK WHITTINGTON’ won the Greater Manchester Drama Federation Best Pantomime for 2018 for Hyde Little Theatre and the 2019 NODA Best Script Award for Preston Musical Comedy Society.
